The 2010 Summer Mini-Eliminator has now completed 12 of 16 qualifying squads. Friday was the busiest day so far as almost 400 entries were recorded. Day 3 began with an Early Bird Squad which drew over 130 entries. Later in the day 3 Early Bird Champions were crowned each winning $1,000; 49 & under champion was Greg Velarde from West Covina, CA, the senior champion was Ed Roberts from Braintree, MA, and the handicap champion was Dustin Keener from Cleveland, GA.
Friday featured 4 more qualifying squads and the scores remained very balanced. The first 300 game was bowled on the 2pm squad by Fero Williams of Fairfield, OH. Gunner Smith from Buford, GA converted the 7-10 split, the first in Mini-Eliminator history. Top series honor for Friday went to; in the 49 & under division Jacob Peters, Decatur, IL bowled a 769, Vaughn Doody from Las Vegas was top senior with a 723, and the high series in the handicap division was rolled by John Carter of Toccoa, GA with a 727.
